Tired all the time? Try essential oils for energy

Everyone knows what it’s like to be tired, but what does it mean if you feel tired all the time? And what can you do to find more energy? Keep reading, and you’ll find out!

What is fatigue?

Simply put, fatigue is the step past tiredness. It’s constant, lingering, and can feel extremely limiting for your day-to-day life. Another way to think of it is as the feeling you get when you have the flu or have missed a lot of sleep lately.

Some people unfortunately have chronic fatigue, also known as systemic exertion intolerance disease (SEID), and wake up after a night’s sleep feeling as though they didn’t sleep at all. Obviously, this can make it hard to lead a functional, productive life and could impact you at work or school.

Aromatherapy for fatigue

So, what causes fatigue? Any number of things, but the common culprits include physical activity (too much or too little), a lack of sleep, an unhealthy diet, too much exercise, and physical or mental illness. Fortunately for those who feel fatigue as a result of these causes, aromatherapy may offer some relief. (Just make sure you talk with your doctor before you get started!)

Some of the best essential oils for energy include the following:

  • Grapefruit
  • Lemon
  • Sweet Orange
  • Peppermint
  • Eucalyptus
  • Black pepper
  • Ginger
  • Basil
  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
  • Bergamot
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Cyprus
  • Cedarwood
  • Pine
  • Ylang-ylang

How aromatherapy can help

The Skinny's aromatherapy line offers products that make use of a number of these essential oils for energy. Most notably, our Sweet Lemongrass products were designed specifically with the goal to help you energize your life. Our White Grapefruit products will also help revitalize your day when you seek an additional boost to get through your day.

Suggested use

Light a natural, soy-free candle throughout the day whenever you’re feeling a bit drained. The scent may help perk you back up so you can finish the task at hand. If you spend most of your day on the move, our body butters or essential oil rollers may be more beneficial. Simply apply one to your body throughout the day when you need a little pick-me-up, or apply one before you go to bed to promote a deeper night’s sleep.
