Can you put coconut oil in tea?

If you love coconut oil like we do, then you likely want to find ways to include it in your diet. There are countless ways to incorporate it, but today we’ll tell you about one of our favorite ways to do so: by mixing it into our tea.

Before you put coconut oil in tea

Skinny & Co. Coconut OilDid you know that mixing coconut oil and tea together is a great way to double the amount of antioxidants you’re taking in? Better still is how easy it is to do so. Simply place some Skinny & Company Coconut Oil on a spoon, stir, and watch it melt right in! You can also add raw honey, or stevia, for a touch of sweetness.

TIP: If you aren’t used to coconut oil in tea, coffee, or smoothies, we suggest starting with half a tablespoon of coconut oil and gradually building up to 1-1.5 tablespoons over time.

Green Tea with coconut oil recipe

Green tea is known to have high levels of antioxidants, and as a bonus it tastes delicious with coconut oil. Here’s how to incorporate the two:

  • Prepare your cup of green tea in our Bamboo Tumbler w/ Tea Strainer.
  • Add 1 tbsp of Skinny coconut oil to your freshly prepared cup of green tea.
  • Optional step: If you prefer to drink cold tea, add the coconut oil while the tea is still hot and mix well to melt the coconut oil. Once the coconut oil has melted, take the cup and put it in the refrigerator to cool off.
  • When your tea is your ideal temperature, drink and enjoy the many health benefits.

What type of coconut oil should you use in tea?

Unfortunately, not all coconut oils are pure. Through processes like fractionation, refining, bleaching, deodorizing, and heating, many coconut oils have lost their purity and benefits.

We suggest our patented, never refined, 100 percent raw coconut oil. It is the purest coconut oil on the market today and makes an awesome accompaniment to any cup of tea.
