The Skinny on Sugar Scrub

The Skinny on Sugar Scrub

The cooler temperatures outside combined with the dry heat inside leads to dry, flaky skin for a lot of us. Surprisingly, this is a great time to introduce an exfoliant into your skin care routine. The Skinny Vanilla Sugar Sugar Scrub is a great way to remove dead skin and leave your skin glowing. Read on for our recommended ways to use this versatile product!

Why now?

All the sunshine and outdoor activities from summer have left behind layers of dead skin cells. Plus, the cold air and wind outside combined with the dry heat inside dries our skin even more. Exfoliating removes dead skin, encouraging rejuvenation of new skin while also allowing our moisturizers to soak into our healthy skin to more fully nourish it.

When and How?

For best results, use a facial exfoliator in the morning following your facial cleanser. This process will leave you with a smooth, clear canvas for applying makeup or starting your day fresh. Use a body exfoliator in the shower or bath after cleansing and before shaving.

How often?

We recommend exfoliating twice a week in the cooler months of fall and winter, as your skin needs an extra boost of hydration and rejuvenation due to the drier air. For those with dry skin year-round, three times a week might be needed.

Why Skinny?

Our Vanilla Sugar Scrubs are created with three pure ingredients - Coconut Oil. Sugar, and Vanilla. While the sugar exfoliates your face to slough away dead skin, our noncomedogenic coconut oil nourishes your skin and creates a barrier to the wind and air. In addition, it unclogs and clears your pores and diminishes acne and breakouts. Vanilla is naturally anti-inflammatory, fighting against redness and irritation that come with sensitivity.

So, if youthful, hydrated, and glowing skin is your goal, adding either of our Sugar Scrubs to your skin care routine is a great step in the right direction.
